Every year I can’t wait to see what everyone in the fashion world, or not, wears to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Gala. The gala is co-hosted by Anna Wintour and Vogue, and raises millions of dollars to benefit the museum’s Costume Institute. The first ball took place in 1948 and each year the tradition continues and everyone arrives looking so wonderfully chic and festive. Throughout the years, the gala has had many themes. Last year was “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, ” an evening that I wish I could been a part of. This year’s gala honors the influence of the late surrealist designer Elsa Schiaparelli on Miuccia Prada with ”Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations.”
